More school sit-ins in Corfu

CORFU. A lot of pupils going to school this morning found the school gates locked.
The sit-in 'virus' has started to spread in Corfu schools. There are sit-ins at the 1st, 2nd and 4th High Schools and the sit-in which began last week at the 2nd Vocational High School is continuing.
Pupils at Paxos Junior High School, which includes high school classes, are also holding a sit-in. The main aim of the protesting pupils is to improve health conditions, with smaller classes and observance of physical distancing at schools.
These are some of the reasons given for the sit-ins at Corfu 1st and 2nd High Schools:
- The large number of pupils in classes during the pandemic.
- One of the classes at the 2nd High School has been absorbed into the other classes - 5 classes have become 4, resulting in overcrowding.
- Increase in subject material, although for a long time schoolwork had been submitted online.
- Lack of gymnastic equipment and non-utilisation of the indoor gym.
