Coast Guard assists sailing boat in Asprokavos

Corfu Port Authority was informed on Thursday afternoon that the sailing boat “K2”, which was sailing under the British flag, was in difficulties due to a sail breakage, 4 nautical miles southeast of Corfu, with nine people on board. They are all in good health.

A Coast Guard patrol boat went immediately to the spot and located the boat in the Asprokavos area sailing with the use of the main engine. The vessel was safely escorted to Corfu Benitses harbour by the Coast Guard.

Corfu Central Port Authority prohibited the sailing of the boat until it had received a certificate of seaworthiness from the Shipping Register.
