Italian, 19, arrested for seriously injuring Briton in Acharavi

CORFU. The 19-year-old injured him with a broken bottle following an argument.
A 19-year-old Italian was charged with grievous bodily harm and taken to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor after injuring a 36-year-old Briton in the neck. The victim underwent surgery but his condition is not considered to be a matter for serious concern.
The incident happened early on Sunday morning in a bar in Acharavi when, for reasons unknown, the Briton got into an argument with a group of Italians. The 19-year-old Italian then took a broken bottle and seriously injured the Briton in the neck.
The Briton was initially taken to a private clinic and it was then deemed necessary to take him to Corfu General Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is now in no danger.
North Corfu police found the Italian at his hotel and arrested him for grievous bodily harm.
