CORFU. He tried to resolve his objections through the Decentralized Administration, which is asking the Association to respond to the questions of the “Kerkyra Psilla” party.

The serious objections of Municipal Councillor Spyros Nerantzis have brought today’s emergency discussion to the Financial Committee, in order for Central Corfu Municipality to accept the contracts for the 2021 waste transportation signed by SYDISA (Solid Waste Management Association). Mr. Neratzis stresses that the responsibility for the waste transportation lay from the very outset with the Municipality and not SYDISA. As a result, as he points out, over 14,000 tons of rubbish have been buried in Temploni in 7 months and that is why he has been trying to bring the issue before the Municipal Council since 14/12/2020!

As he told Enimerosi, he tried to resolve his objections through the Decentralized Administration, which is asking the Association to respond to the questions of the “Kerkyra Psilla” party. However, the Association has yet not responded. The last notification from the Decentralized Administration to SYDISA, to submit its response to the questions of Mr. Neratzis’ party was on 26 June.

As he said on his personal social media page, “From 12/14/2020 to date, we have lost 7 months (so far.....), buried over 14,000 tons (so far...) under the big carpet called Temploni! We have been shouting in all directions that the 2021 waste transportation is the Municipality’s obligation and not SYDISA’s! Then we didn't understand correctly! ..... Now SYDISA is begging us to accept the contracts it has signed (without having the competence) and of course to execute and pay them....”
