CORFU. "The approval of the Employment Ministry for food supply is still pending as is the signature for the hiring of personnel," said Municipal Councillor and Camp President Spyros Neratzis.
The opening of the Gouvia 'Stamatis Desyllas' summer camp has been suspended due to pending issues - Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality is still awaiting the decisions of the Employment Ministry with regard to recruitment of personnel and food supplies.
The camp was due to open today for the first period (12 - 21 July) with up to 60 children 6-16 years of age including 24 with special needs.
"The approval of the Employment Ministry for food supply is still pending as is the signature for the hiring of personnel," said Municipal Councillor and President of the Camp Board Spyros Neratzis.
The Gouvia Camp Board is due to meet tomorrow afternoon with Deputy Mayor for Social Policy Andreas Skoupouras and 'Melissa' President Spyros Zoumboulidis attending to discuss the situation.
An announcement from Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality regarding the opening of the camp is expected.
