Work access at Gouvia Marina becoming more expensive
CORFU. A letter with the new pricing and terms, setting a minimum threshold of €1 million in liability insurance!
Work conditions are changing at Gouvia Marina Shipyard. To be more precise, costs are rising. The management of the marina has notified all interested parties with a document outlining the new pricing for presence and work, initially causing dissatisfaction and concern. The almost simultaneous announcement of these new terms and the resignation of the marina's director has raised questions, although it is unclear if the two are related. Since then, Mr. Karampatsos has remained silent, refraining from publicly disclosing the reasons for his departure.
In the meantime, the conditions for contractors working in the marina are becoming notably stringent. According to the letter from D-Marin:
"...To issue an entry permit, in addition to other required documentation, a copy of third-party liability insurance with a minimum coverage of €1,000,000 will be required.
The annual fee for entry, use and conducting work in the boat storage area must be paid. This annual fee covers waste management, electricity consumption, cleaning services, and site maintenance, and is set at €3,600 for each company using the space. This fee applies to companies with up to 5 employees, with an additional charge of €300 per employee annually for each employee beyond the fifth.
If a contractor or technical crew that does not have an annual entry permit wishes to access the area and perform work for a limited period, they must submit the aforementioned documentation and pay a daily fee for entry, use and work, which amounts to €40 per employee per day."
