Meropi Ydraiou meets with Regional Civil Protection Coordinator

CORFU. Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou met with the Ionian Islands Regional Civil Protection Coordinator on Monday 15 February.
Ms. Ydraiou and Mr. Sourvinos discussed several organisational matters as well as the setting up of a Local Civil Protection Centre in the Central Corfu Municipality.
The Mayor informed Mr. Sourvinos that in a telephone conversation with the Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias he made it known that he was in favour of accepting her request for the creation of an Emergency Management Centre in Corfu. Mr. Sourvinos said that the information he had indicated that one of the four Emergency Management Centres in Greece would, indeed, be in Corfu.
Ms. Ydraiou thanked Mr. Sourvinos for the meeting and wished him success in his new role, declaring her desire to cooperate as much as possible with him and the new department for the protection of public health and the public in general for the benefit of the whole region.
