CORFU. Members of a gang involved in bringing heroin from Athens and trafficking it in Corfu were arrested.

Following a months-long investigation Corfu Drugs Squad was able to identify the gang members - 2 Greek nationals and 1 foreign national - and each one's role. It was established that from July 2020, at least, they had trafficked 210g of heroin.

The role of the foreign national was to find heroin and arrange for it to come to Corfu where it was received by one of the Greek nationals. Along with the other gang member they sold it to addicts, mainly in South Corfu.

On Monday 8 February, in an organised police operation in Athens and Corfu, two members were found and arrested. The third member was already in custody for a case of trafficking 110g of heroin.

The arrested men were charged with forming a gang and trafficking heroin. Another 12 Greek nationals were also involved in the supply of drugs.

The arrested men will be taken to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
