Work resumes in Erimitis

CORFU. The Memorandum of cooperation and understanding between the Ministry of Culture services and NCH Capital has been signed. This had been a condition for the work at Erimitis to go ahead.
The first phase of the work is in the area of the Naval Outpost.
So the demolition work has resumed (not the old mill) under the supervision of Corfu Inspectorate of Antiquities. Work on other areas, according to the plan, will go ahead once the relevant permissions have been granted including from the Archaeological Services and archaeologists have been appointed to supervise the work.
The same supervision and inspection also took place when the company carried out exploratory work recently - geological, not archaeological. There hasn't been an excavation inspection in the area, but this will probably take place during the construction phase.
