Corfu Port sniffer dog discovers package with cocaine on coach arriving from Athens

CORFU. A woman, 53, and a man, 55, were arrested by Corfu Central Port Authority Drugs Squad last night.
On arrival of a ferry boat at Corfu Port, acting on information received, a suspicious package was found on a coach coming from Athens with the aid of the sniffer dog Kim. The package, which was addressed to a 55-year-old man, was allowed to continue its journey to the KTEL bus station, where the man and a 53-year-old woman came to pick it up.
After the package had been picked up by the two people, it was opened and found to contain two plastic bags with 16.2g cocaine. The car in which the two had come to the bus station was also searched a plastic bag was found hidden there 6.8g cannabis.
A search of their home was then conducted and electronic precision scales were found with traces of white powder, probably cocaine.
Corfu Central Port Authority, which is conducting the investigation, confiscated the drugs, scales, car and two mobile phones.
