CORFU. Hardly any people were in town today and the streets that are normally full of life were deserted.
The happy buzz of people sitting around in Liston has given way to an unusual silence - all the cafes with seating are closed following the orders from the Ministry of Health aimed at preventing coronavirus from spreading.
The few people who are enjoying a stroll can only buy drinks to take away or have it delivered. The only spots where more people can be seen are outside the supermarkets and other food shops - in line with the guidelines, shops and other places where people gather must ensure that no more than five people are queuing.
Police have been out since this morning to ensure that the new guidelines are being followed.
