Statement from Viking Cruises:

"Viking Cruises is suspending its cruises until 1 May. The shipping company is taking this action until 1 May due to the spread of coronavirus.

- At the present time the operation of a travel company involves a high risk for containment of the virus, thus ruining the experience for our visitors, says President and Owner Torstein Hagen.

- Whoever has booked a cruise before 1 May can either get a full refund or make a new booking for a later date at a discount price."

Princess Cruises cancellations

Princess Cruises has also announced that it is cancelling cruises - all 18 ships in its fleet - for two months until 10 May.

The company's ship Crown Princess was due in Corfu on 22 April.
