CORFU. The Traffic Police Special Action Plan is ongoing in urban and suburban areas.
The special measures to ensure the convenience of the public in their daily lives are ongoing in Corfu, Zakynthos, Cephalonia and Lefkada.
According to the Ionian Islands Regional Police, the programme 'Public urban mobility' aims to improve the quality of people's daily lives in urban and suburban areas on the islands and to ensure their safety - with special emphasis on vulnerable groups.
In February there were 391 traffic violations in total - 299 in Corfu, 57 in Zakynthos, 31 in Cephalonia and 4 in Lefkada. The violations were as follows:
- Parking on pedestrian crossings - 58
- Parking in Special Needs parking spaces - 53
- Parking on pavements - 142
- Driving and parking in pedestrian precincts - 130
