Police distribute road safety leaflets to parents and primary school pupils

Police distributed road safety leaflets to parents and pupils in Corfu, Lefkada, Cephalonia and Zakynthos this morning as they arrived for the first day back at school.

The police campaign aims to increase road safety awareness in parents and children especially when they are coming and going to school.



The leaflets give advice and explain the Highway Code in simple terms so that young children can learn about road safety. They also contain useful advice for parents on how to teach their children properly in this respect.

Traffic police also carried out increased checks today and were paying particular attention to school buses.

Stressing the importance of road safety, the Ionian Islands Regional Police also encouraged people to visit the Guide for Citizens on the police website.
