Trial lighting up of ΄Apidalos Nafs΄

port
12 Dec 2019 / 12:02

CORFU. This is what the ΄Apidalos Nafs΄ at the port roundabout will look like when it is lit up at night.

The 'Apidalos Nafs' (Ship without steering oars) is the Homeric symbol of the seamanship of the ancient Phaeacians. The work of art which has been placed in the roundabout had already been in the port near the Corfu Port Authority building. It is a metal construction created by the Swiss artist Cleo Brenner and Kostas Panaretos.

A few days ago there was an initial trial of the lighting. The aim is to highlight the minimalism of the work without blinding or being a nuisance to drivers on the roundabout.
