CORFU. The new local authority΄s first recycling project.
The Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipality press office has announced the new local authority's first recycling project.
The Followgreen recycling platform is now online for residents of Central Corfu and the Diapontia Islands.
According to the press release:
"The Followgreen recycling platform is now online and accessible to residents of Central Corfu and the Diapontia Islands.
It is imperative that recycling becomes a way of life in Corfu.
Mayor Meropi Ydraiou's committment to make the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands a model for recycling is being fulfilled.
Members of the public can easily create an account at followgreen.gr/centralkerkira and have the opportunity win points in the following ways:
- Recycling educational activities such as articles, videos and quizzes.
- Registering the recycling that they do.
- Donating goods to the Municipal Community Shop and medicines to the Municipal Pharmacy.
Points collected can be exchanged for special offers - product and service discounts from local businesses - or donated to schools of their choice as part of school recycling competitions.
The Municipality invites local businesses to join the programme, with discount offers for active members of the Followgreen platform, which is a collaborative initiative from the Municipality of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands and SYDISA with the cooperation of Corfu Chamber of Commerce.
This is the local Authority's first recycling project - there are more to come, to make recycling a way of life in our Municipality!"
