Fire in Agios Markos under control

CORFU. At this time (14:30) the fire which broke out in an area with reeds near Agios Markos has been contained to 15 stremma.
The fire broke out at around 11:00, spread quickly due to the strong winds and came close to a residential area. The Fire Service fought the fire with all its resources on the ground and with two PZL fiefighting planes.
The Regional and Municipal Civil Protection Departments also assisted along with volunteers.
