Bastatika fire has been contained and is abating

CORFU. Superhuman efforts from emergency and air firefighters have managed to bring the fire in Bastatika and Neohori near Lefkimmi under control.
The precautionary evacuation order removed people from the danger zone. At 19:30 the Regional Director Andreas Rizos told Enimerosi that the danger had been averted, the fire had been contained section by section and was abating.
Residents were allowed to return to their homes and there remains a strong presence from the Fire Service in the area.
