CORFU. Firefighters are on standby in case fire breaks out again. 80 stremma were burnt according to initial estimates.
Firefighters remain on standby near Kritika, Paliohori and Neohori. The fire which broke out yesterday afternoon is estimated to have burnt 80 stremma of land with wild grass and olive trees. The fire was brought under control last night and a member of the Fire Service told Enimerosi, "We've got a lot of work to do here".
At around 21:00 yesterday firefighters were also called out to Lofo Koyevina in Corfu where an area with wild grass had caught fire. Fortunately, they were able to put it out immediately.
