LARISSA. 18-year-old Spyridoula Karidi continues to impress Greece and Europe with her performances.
Following her personal record of 13.64m in the triple jump on Saturday Karidi set another personal record of 6.48m in the long jump at the National Under-23 Athletics Championships in Larissa. She now returns to Corfu with two Gold Medals just as she did the previous weekend at the National Under-20 Championships!
Her first jump was invalid and she then jumped 6.31m putting her in second place behind 21-year-old Koutsaliari (6.32) over the first five attempts. On the last jump however, Karidi broke her personal record with a jump of 6.48m and won the Gold Medal. Spyridoula is obviously in top form and we have high hopes for her at the European Championships 18 - 21 July.
