CEPHALONIA. Young Corfu athlete Spyridoula Karydi came up against the top Greek long jumper Voula Papachristou and came second with 6.41m against the winning 6.43m.
Spyridoula Karydi took part in the long jump in her first competition this year - 'Vergotia 2021' in Cephalonia. The young Corfu athlete came up against the the top Greek long jumper Voula Papachristou and came second with 6.41m against the winning 6.43m.
Spyridoula appeared to be in excellent condition and 6.41m was a good competitive start for the athlete, whose personal best is 6.71m from last year. It also needs to be taken into account that the winner, Voula Papachristou, had a favourable wind of 2.7 whereas Spyridoula had 1.3.
