Young Corfu athletes win Gold and Silver in the triple jump!

LARISSA. Spyridoula Karidi and Konstantina Romeou took first two places in the National Under-23 Athletics Championship in Larissa.
For the fourth time this season Spyridoula Karidi jumped over 13.50m in the triple jump. The young Corfu athlete, coached by Pavlos Skordilid, is the best in her age group this year in Europe. Her jump of 13.64m improved on her previous personal best - 13.61m on 5 June - and won her the Gold Medal in the Under-23 Championships following her Gold in the Under-20 competition.
The other Corfu athlete Konstantina Romeou took part in a competition in Greece for the first time in two years and won the Silver Medal with 13.24m. This is just short of the qualifying distance of 13.25m for the European Championships.
