LARISSA. Outstanding performance from Dimitris Monopolis at the National Under-23 Athletics Championships in Larissa.
In the triple jump final on Saturday evening Monopolis achieved the 16.10m qualifying distance for the European Championships. His first jump was 16.12 with a following wind and his second 16.24 - qualifying him for the European Championships and winning the Gold Medal.

In the women's high jump Panayiota Dosi, who won the National Under-20 competition a week earlier with 1.82m, didn't have such a good day and took third place with 1.77.
Spyros Doukatelis qualified from the 100m heats with 10.81 in the morning but in the final came 9th with 11.19.
