CORFU. Plan to relieve Temploni landfill suffers new setback.
The plan to relieve Temploni landfill and manage waste in the interim period until the new facility is built has suffered a setback.
The precontract for the sale and purchase of the 52 stremma piece of land has not been approved by the Commissioner as, according to information, the price quoted is much higher than that determined by the assessor. The Municipal legal department lodged an appeal but this was dismissed by the court.
The new land is to be used for the interim waste management whilst the new Integrated Waste Management facility is being constructed.
