CORFU. It now remains to be seen if and when they will take action.

On Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th members of the public visited Traffic Police Chief Mr. Skolarikis, Deputy Mayor for Technical Services Mr. Goulis and Deputy Regional Governor for Technical Services Mr. Tsoukas to request that improvements be carried out on the road network.

The delegation submitted printed copies of the results of the survey carried out on the Facebook Page 'Your Complaints to the Mayor'. which highlighted the most dangerous spots for drivers and pedestrians. The members of the public who signed the document are demanding that the authorities take steps to remedy the situation. They presented the most dangerous spots, according to the survey, and questions regarding the current situation.

These three visits are part of the actions being taken by the group 'IF' which was set up following the tragic death of young Anna Maria on Eth. Lefkimmi Road. With the hope that the authorities will respond as soon as possible, those who took part - along with all the residents in Corfu obviously - are awaiting a statement and for work to begin. Everyone's basic demand is road safety - something that goes without saying on the roads of every modern European town.
