Ionian Islands Regional Governor didn΄t agree to speak to Lefkimmi residents

CORFU. The Police Chief conveyed the Lefkimmi protestors΄ request for a meeting to the Regional Governor Theodoros Galiatsatos.
The protestors had gathered outside the Regional Offices in Alykes to protest against the waste management plan for the island which will include the use of Lefkimmi landfill.
Yesterday Lefkimmi Cultural & Environmental Society served an extrajudicial document calling on the Regional Governor not to license the residue landfill.
Today Lefkimmi residents travelled 40km in a convoy to protest but Theodoros Galiatsatos didn't agree to their request for a meeting.
