ATHENS. There was a 17% increase in the number of flights at Corfu Capodistrias Airport in 2018 - 29% for domestic flights and 14.5% for international flights.
There was a 15.3% increase in the number of arrivals (domestic and international) with 3,364,115 more passengers than the previous season.
These statistics come from the figures Fraport Greece has published for the 14 regional airports it manages - Corfu, Aktion, Kavala, Cephalonia, Thessaloniki, Zakynthos, Kos, Mytilene, Mykonos, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini and Skiathos.
Of the 14 airports Corfu had the third largest number of visitors after Thessaloniki and Rhodes.
Over the whole year there was an 8.9% increase in the number of passengers compared to 2017 with a total of 29,877,203 passengers. 22,914,952 of those were international visitors (+ 11.5%) and the remainder domestic (1.2%).
Along with the increase in the number of passengers there was also an increase in the number of flights with a total of 230,126 - + 7.4% compared to 2017.
