Man kills his daughter with iron rod in brutal Corfu crime!

Police investigations ended in the discovery of a brutal crime on Wednesday night following the mysterious disappearance of 29-year-old Aggelina Petrou.

As previously reported in Enimerosi, based on information given to the police, the father of the young woman was quickly considered to be the main suspect in this brutal crime. As the investigation proceeded, their suspicions were confirmed when the father confessed. Charges were then drawn up against him.

The 29-year-old Aggelina Petrou from Berat in Albania had gone missing on Wednesday morning. A friend reported the disappearance to the police, who quickly took action based on information from the friend and other people who knew her and discovered her body in Alepou on Wednesday evening.

Her body was buried behind the house where her father lived and was removed with assistance from the Fire Service and taken for an autopsy to be conducted. According to initial evidence, there were comminuted fractures caused by a sharp object. The father was arrested and taken to the police station, where he confessed to the crime.

The case of the murder of a 29-year-old foreign woman in Corfu was solved by Corfu police immediately following a systematic and thorough investigation.

A 52-year-old foreign national - a close family member of the 29-year-old - was arrested yesterday (2/1) and has been charged with first-degree murder. The police investigation revealed that on Tuesday night, following a heated argument between the two of them, the 52-year-old hit the woman with a metal object (iron rod) on the head causing fatal injuries.

Corfu Police conducted the interrogation and were assisted by the Ionian Islands Regional Criminal Investigation Department in the investigation.

The 52-year-old will be taken to appear before the Corfu Prosecutor.
