Double-digit increase in international airport arrivals in the Ionian Islands

CORFU. According to Fraport statistics, international arrivals in October completed a double-digit increase (for the 3rd consecutive year)in the Ionian Islands for 2018 - and increase of 12.9% compared to last year.
Compared to October last year there was a 12.5% increase in Corfu, 8.25% in Zakynthos, 33.3% in Cephalonia and a decrease of 5.3% in Aktion.
The domestic arrivals and departures figures were also good - 22.9% increase in Corfu, 10.1 % in Zakynthos, 23% in Cephalonia and a decrease of 18.2% in Aktion.
Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Spyros Galiatsatos said, "These figures, which confirm the Regional Administration's forecast, lend even greater strength to the economic indexes (added value, employment, businesses, investements local and national gross product etc.).
An even greater number of tourists is expected in 2019, which means an even greater responsibility for related businesses and organizations - national and local - to start making even better preparations from now so that we can respond properly to the unprecedented increase in the number of tourists coming to the Ionian Islands."
