Ferry strike to continue on Tuesday

ATHENS. The Hellenic Seamen΄s Federation (PNO) announced that there will be another 24-hour strike on Tuesday.
Following today's 24-hour strike, the PNO general assembly decided to continue the strike for another 24 hours on Tuesday - from 06:00 to 06:00 on Wednesday.
PNO had a meeting on Friday afternoon with the Shipping Union regarding the signing of a collective labour agreement but nothing was resolved.
The Shipping Union proposed a 1% wage increase from the beginning of September and a further 1% increase from 1/6/2019. This wasn't accepted by the PNO who wanted an increase of 5%.
The following ferry services will not be operating from 06:01 on Tuesday 4/9 until 06:00 on Wednesday 5/9: Corfu-Igoumenitsa, Igoumenitsa-Paxos, Lefkimmi-Igoumenitsa, Corfu-Paxos and Corfu-Diapontia Islands.
Passengers are advised to contact local shipping agencies and Corfu Central Port Authority for information about strike developments and ferry services.
