There are at least two questions raised by the organized efforts in Corfu in response to the human tragedy which, fortunately, did not happen here.
The first is the lack of coordination in the collection of supplies and basic necessities for the victims. Can there not be a standard procedure for how this should happen? Any kind of initiative is wonderful, wherever it comes from, but the potential and efficiency is limited when questions such What? How much? and How? remain unanswered. It is the Regional Civil Protection Service which has the responsibility to provide the answers and it should have made announcements by now.
The second is regarding the three days of national mourning and artistic events. Have these events been postponed or not? This should be clarified by the responsible organizations and organizers so that there is no doubt.
