Fire in Sfakera brought under control – Fire Service responds swiftly

There was an immediate and efficient mobilisation of the fire services this afternoon in tackling a fire that broke out in a rural area of Sfakera.

The fire started around 1:00 p.m. under circumstances that are, so far, unclear. Two vehicles from the Thinali Municipal Fire Station, with four firefighters, rushed to the scene immediately.

Thanks to the rapid response of the firefighting forces, the fire was quickly contained and is now fully under control, before it could spread to neighbouring properties or forest areas. Firefighting crews remain in the area to complete the extinguishing operation and to deal with any possible flare-ups.
