Two Corfu women, Genovefa Heimariou, President of 'For Our Children' Association, and the paediatrician Christina Spyridou, took the initiative of contacting the areas hit by the wildfire to find out what is needed for the victims.
They posted the following: "The situation is as you can probably imagine. In the next few hours we will announce where the collection points will be located for donations of goods and the times we will be there.
We would like to ask for volunteers to give their time.
The immediate needs are:
- Bandages
- Betadine
- Fucidin
- Antibiotics (adults & children)
- Painkillers (adults & children)
- Baby wipes
- Long-life foods - for example: oil, sugar, coffee, biscuits, tins of vegetables, meat, fish and fruit, jams, honey, pulses, pasta, rice, cereals, long-life milk etc.
All packaged and long-life.
We know that we will support each other.

Support from Temploni Cultural Society
From today Tuesday 24th until Friday 27th the Temploni Cultural Society office will remain open in the evening 20:00 - 22:00 to support the above initiative and collect goods for the victims of the fire.
1st Scout Group
The Community Support Committee of the 1st Scout Group is collecting basic necessities (clothing, infant and children's items and food, personal hygiene and cleaning items, long-life foodstuffs etc.) for the fire victims. The collection point is the the Ist Scout Group hall - please call 6948 574147 first.
North Corfu
Cultural Societies, residents and church committees from the villages in North Corfu are collecting food and basic necessities for the fire victims. The collection point is the old school in Acharavi.
