Corfu athlete wins bronze medal at National Championships

PATRAS. Four Corfu athletes took part in the Greek Men΄s Championships in Patras.

Dimitris Monopolis took part in the Men's Championship for the first time and finished in third place in the triple jump with 16.17 metres - just under his personal best of 16.26. At 20 years of age he was the youngest competitor and his future looks bright.

36-year-old Tsiamis won the triple jump with 16.72 and Bofis was second with 16.24.

Corfu athlete Spyros Doukatelis, whose main event is the 200m, took part in the 100m and came 8th in a time of 10.91 which was a new personal best.

It was a great result for the 18-year-old Doukatelis, who just recently won the 200m in the National Youth Championships.
