GYOR, HUNGARY. Spyridoula Karydi won the Bronze Medal in the long jump at the European Under-18 Athletics Championships.
The young Corfu athlete was third in the long jump on Friday evening with 6.23 metres - just 2cm less than that of the silver medallist! This broke the Greek under-18 record of 6.21 which she herself had set on June 9 at the Balkan Championships in Turkey.
Spyridoula Karydi's main focus, however, is on the triple jump and she will be taking part in the qualifying round on Saturday, requiring a jump of 12.60 metres to qualify for Sunday's final.
