This weekend Corfu will be represented by three young athletes - Romaiou, Karydi and Monopolis - who are competing in the triple jump in three important competitions.

Pavlos Skordilis' athletes, who have a lot to offer Greek athletics, will be taking part in three different competitions.

In the USA, 21-year-old Konstantina Romaiou will be taking part in the University Finals in Oregon, representing Kansas University, where she is studying with a scholarship following her silver medal in the World Championships. She is looking for a top 6 place as there are students taking part from all over the world who are studying in the USA.

20-year-old Dimitris Monopolis left for Jesolo in Italy on Friday, where he will be taking part in Mediterranean Under-23 Championships this weekend. The Corfu athlete is in good form and hopes to get a medal as well as produce a good jump. He is one of 13 athletes from Greece taking part in the competition.

Finally, the youngest athlete - 17-year-old Spyridoula Karydi - has gone to Istanbul to take part in the Balkan Under-18 Championships on Saturday 9th June. She will be representing Greece in the triple jump and the long jump and has an excellent chance of returning with two medals - which could even be gold.
