CORFU. The Corfu Food & Wine Festival continues tonight with the following programme:

20:00: Wine & Poetry Evening at the Rex
At this classic restaurant in Corfu old town, Yiorgos Kentrotis, Professor of the Ionian University, reads a selection of poems from ancient Greek literature about wine and well-being in Modern Greek and English translation, directed by Petros Gallias.

20:00: From Peru to Corfu via Ural@Kontokali Bay
The prominent Russian chef Rashid Rakhmanov meets the Corfu chef Spiros
Voulismas and together map an outstanding journey – distillation of the
world gastronomy.

20:00: European Silk Road – Venezia to Corfu@Marina’s Taverna
The famous Venetian chef Giuseppe Galardi, owner of the traditional Osteria Ai Assassini in the heart of Venice close to San Marco Square, explores Venetian influences of Corfu to present dishes inspired by the shared culture of the two nations. The event is co-organised with Marco Polo System, a European group with twenty years’ experience in implementing European and in particular Mediterranean cultural projects, in the framework of MedTaste, a pilot action of the international European Silk Road network.

20:00: Discover Corfu@Pomo d’ Oro
Discover Corfu is a gastronomic journey in the creative cuisine of the island inspired by its traditional flavors, created by the acclaimed chef Aristotelis Megoulas.

20:00: Corfu Beer Flavours@ Markas
Enjoy Corfu beers paired with four traditional dishes based on the Corfiot cuisine. Corfu’s unique microbrewery presents its finest options arguing about the most suitable dish to accompany. Marka’s chef undertakes the task to bring the results of this argument to your table.

22:0: A geography of tastes at Akamatra
A mellow selection of wine and tsipouro from all over Greece. ‘Akamatra’ serves these along with a special selection of dishes at the tsipouro snack tavernas in Prosalendou Street, behind Corfu Old Port.
