Five tons of plastic caps sent to Thessaloniki for recycling
CORFU. Continuing the work of ‘Kerkyraion Protovoulia’ (Corfu Initiative), ‘Oli mazi gia thn Kerkyra’ (All together for Corfu) has been collecting plastic caps.
Having collected plastic caps from all over Corfu and Paxos, with significant contributions from schools, scouts and many businesses, the first shipment left for Thessaloniki.
‘Oli mazi’ posted the following: “All of us together have ensured that 5 tons of plastic caps won’t go to Temploni but to Thessaloniki for recycling. We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and for collecting the caps. We would like to thank the owners of the transport company Kerkyra Express, brothers Nikos and Yiannis Vitouladitis, for transporting the shipment to Thessaloniki free of charge. We would also like to thank the owner of Cava Diapon, Christos Tasoulas, for providing storage space as well as his staff who loaded the lorry. We will continue our efforts.”
The plastic caps are sent for recycling and the payment from the recycling company is used to buy wheelchairs. Using some of the payment received, Corfu Initiative will donate 4 wheelchairs in the next few days.
