1st Corfu Tourism Conference: Cooperation is a requisite for success
CORFU. The conclusion from the conference on Corfu Tourism, 18-19 November, was that it is imperative to have cooperation and a common strategy.
The conference finished on Sunday afternoon at the Ionian Academy. Tourism experts and professionals from all over Greece took part and on Sunday two leading personalities in the field of business unionism (including tourism) gave presentations in the session on Tourism and the Local Economy - Giorgos Kavathas, President Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen & Merchants (GSEVEE) and Vassilis Korkidis, President, Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE).
However, the most important thing to come out of the conference was the interest shown by the participation of the majority of Corfu businesspeople, which indicates, at the very least, that we need to work together with a common front to face the dangers to the local tourist economy.
