Kanalia Primary School pupils visit Municipal Small Green Spot.
CORFU. Through their own questions and curiosity, the pupils gained valuable knowledge with the help of practical, easy-to-understand examples.
As part of fostering environmental awareness from an early age, fourth-grade pupils from Kanalia Primary School visited the Municipal Small Green Spot on Monday morning, participating in the programme “Model for the Development of Actions to Strengthen Active Citizenship” and in the initiative “Let’s Wear Them Again!”.
During the visit, pupils and teachers were informed about the different recycling streams across all categories, the proper management of recyclable materials, and the “journey” of materials from the Green Spot to their processing.
Through their own questions and curiosity, the pupils gained valuable knowledge with the help of practical and easy-to-understand examples.
They then actively participated in the process by placing recyclable materials into the appropriate bins, putting into practice what they had previously learned.
The Municipality would like to thank the administration of Kanalia Primary School, as well as teachers Christina Tsouli and Anthi Paraskevaidou, for their cooperation and contribution to the implementation of this activity.
An open invitation is also extended to all schools on the island to take part in similar educational visits to the Green Spot (Eptanissou Street, Tria Gefyria).
