Removal of waste from Goggakis to be completed by end of week
CORFU. The company aims to reconstruct the unit from scratch, counting on the support of the departments involved.
The company anticipates that by Saturday, November 15, all animal waste will have been cleared from the burned Goggakis facilities. This will be followed by the removal of debris from the site, paving the way for reconstruction.
According to company sources, its reopening is considered essential, since the Corfu unit supplies the hotels on the island. Before it was destroyed by the fire, it handled a large part of the business’s operations, making it irreplaceable.
It is expected that the services involved will respond so that this wound can be healed as quickly and effectively as possible.
Meanwhile, the report from the Fire Department’s Investigative Unit is awaited, which will shed light on all aspects of the destructive fire.
