Man, 49, arrested for theft from transport company
CORFU. He stole materials and aluminum rods worth €10,000 from the yard of a transport company.
(Police Department) A 49-year-old man was arrested by police officers yesterday evening, January 26. A criminal case was filed against him for the offence of theft.
Following extensive searches, the 49-year-old was located and arrested by officers of the Crime Prevention and Suppression Unit (OPKE) and the Corfu Police Department. In the morning hours of the previous day, January 25, he removed materials and aluminum rods from the yard of a transport company located in an area on the outskirts of Corfu Town, with a total value of €10,000.
During the investigation, the majority of the stolen items were recovered and returned to their lawful owner.
The preliminary investigation was conducted by the Sub-Directorate for Crime Investigation and Detection of Corfu, during which the vehicle used by the above-mentioned individual in committing the illegal act was seized. The arrested man was brought before the Corfu Public Prosecutor for Misdemeanors.
