ATHENS. As expected, Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias announced that the temporary closure of businesses and churches has been extended to 11 April and stressed the need for maximum precautions and adherence to the measures.

We're walking a fine line and any deviation could change the situation dramatically.

Prof. Tsiodras gave the daily update with figures from the National Public Health Organisation (EODY). There have been 95 new cases taking the total in Greece to 1,156; 69 patients remain tubed in ICUs and the total number of deaths is 38.

He stated that the curve in Greece is showing a slower growth than in other countries. He also warned that we should take care not to listen to misinformation and that the pandemic is not just a matter of numbers - it is a battle being fought by all humanity.

In response to a question from a journalist, Ministry of Health Deputy Minister Vassilis Kontozamanis replied yet again to the media's persistent question regarding when the 500 sample testing units he had announced will be up and running. The Deputy Minister repeated that the measure will begin in the next few days.

Prof. Tsiodras also referred to upcoming epidemiological studies regarding the development of immunity in the population, which are being prepared for the next stage in tackling the virus.
