CORFU. A lot of Corfiots, and not only those living in the area, responded to the call of the Association for the Protection and Promotion of Dassia yesterday.
Voices of protest against the rampant tourist exploitation of the island's natural resources are growing. A lot of Corfiots, and not only those living in the area, responded to the call of the Association for the Protection and Promotion of Dassia yesterday, expressing their discontent over the alteration of the former Club Med beach and the municipal Maggiore lane by the Ikos hotel company.
The movement for the preservation of Erimitis and various political figures are adding their voices to the protest. Among those present at yesterday's protest were, among others, the SYRIZA MP candidates, Avlonitis and Kaloudis; MeRA25 MP candidate, Litsa Alexaki; KKE (Communist party) MP candidate, Yiannis Pelais; Al. Michalas from the regional ANASA party; the municipal councillor of the Prota I Kerkyra party, Machos Vasilakis; representatives of the Erimitis Plus Association; the environmentalist Kostas Kaloudis; representatives of the Kato Korakiana Association, and many others.
