Good start to March for Corfu tourist season

ATHENS. (FRAPORT). 10 out of 14 airports recorded an increase compared to 2019, with Corfu, Chania, Skiathos and Rhodes having an increase of more than 30%.
The tourist season has started very well this year, as shown by the numbers. As far as Corfu is concerned, it is one of the most attractive Greek tourist destinations. 10 out of 14 Fraport airports recorded an increase compared to 2019, with Corfu, Chania, Skiathos and Rhodes having an increase of more than 30%.
The numbers recorded in March by the 14 regional Fraport airports (Aktion, Chania, Corfu, Kavala, Cephalonia, Thessaloniki, Zakynthos, Kos, Mykonos, Mytilini, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos) are better than in 2019, while the tourist season began with the first charter flights.
There was a 2.5% increase in the number of passengers compared to pre-pandemic years, with over 731,000 tourists travelling to the 14 destinations. The number of international passengers recorded has increased by 14.1% compared to 2019, which is used as a benchmark for Greek tourism.
Since the Corfu Airport reopened and especially from 26 March onwards, the international flights showed a 82% increase compared to last year!
Most passengers are British and Polish, while the German market is also on the rise - and all this with the hotels still closed and of course before this year's Easter boom!
