CORFU. Stones fell away from the section of the wall at Scarpona.
More damage to Corfu's Venetian fortresses following the heavy rainfall over the last few days. On Tuesday night a section of the New Fortress wall at Scarpona came away on Loh. Vlaikou St.
A crew from the Antiquities Inspectorate are at the location and are temporarily filling in the hole that was created to prevent any further fall of stones which could endanger passing traffic and pedestrians.
