CORFU. Yet another instance of illegal parking blocking emergency vehicles.
An illegally parked car in Stamatiou Desyllas St. in the heart of Corfu Town caused great disruption this morning. The car was parked next to the refuse bins and blocked the road for a fire engine that was trying to get past.
Two police motorcyclists came to the scene before the driver appeared and the road cleared.
The continuing sound of the fire engine's sirens brought all the nearby residents to their windows to see what was going on.
On this particular occasion, it was not so serious as the fire engine was on its way to free someone from a lift and no lives were in danger.
