LONDON. Sigh of relief from Greek tourist professionals following the UK Foreign Office announcement to say that Greece remains on safe list with no 14-day quarantine for returning travellers.

Greece remains on the list of countries considered safe for Britons to travel to following the latest update from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

This is good news for Greece, which is a top destination for British tourists.

It means that travellers arriving in the UK from Greece do not have to go into 14-day quarantine.

The latest FCO announcement removes Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Jamaica from the safe list and after 4am on Saturday 29 August there will be a mandatory 14-day quarantine for travellers arriving in the UK from these countries.

In the last few weeks other countries removed from the safe list were France, Malta, Spain and Croatia. Cuba, however, has been added to the safe list.

The UK criterion for a destination to be considered 'safe' is not to go above 20 cases per 100,000 population over a 7-day period.
