Establisment of commitee for Palestine

(Committee of Solidarity with Palestine and Lebanon) The second meeting of supporters in solidarity with Palestine took place, during which a corresponding Solidarity Committee for Palestine and Lebanon was established. The meeting, held in a spirit of understanding, explored the possibilities of expressing a strong climate of solidarity in Corfu with the suffering peoples of the Middle East, who are being tested by the atrocities of Israel with the complicity of the USA, NATO and the EU.

The meeting unanimously agreed on the following actions:

1. To reach out to the active unions of the island so that they can immediately and in a coordinated manner take initiatives to express their condemnation of the ongoing killings and support the just cause of a people fighting for their freedom.

2. To inform the workers and youth in Corfu in every possible way about the true dimensions of the war (through posters, leaflets, campaigns in town, banners, appeals for aid and media outreach).

3. To intervene as a unified body during the October 28th parade to raise awareness among the public and youth about the issue, linking our people's anti-fascist 'NO' with the resistance of the peoples in the Middle East.

4. To call on teachers' unions to continue and strengthen the spirit of solidarity in their schools.
