Chlomos Residents to Deliver Resolution Over Water Shortage
The residents of Chlomos have held a community assembly, organised by the Cultural Society, to address the ongoing water shortage.
A three-member committee was elected to lead the discussion. At the close of the meeting, residents voted in favour of submitting a formal resolution to the Municipality of South Corfu on Tuesday, August 12, at 10:30 a.m. The resolution will be delivered by the Society’s president and the committee’s representative, accompanied by the community president and local residents.
The resolution states:
We, the residents of Chlomos:
-
Endure a daily nightmare due to the lack of water.
-
Live in a constant state of alert.
-
Face risks to our health and damage to our dignity.
-
Condemn the complete lack of planning and public information.
We demand:
-
The immediate restoration of water supply to our homes.
-
Until the problem is resolved, a clear schedule and fixed hours for water supply in each area so we can plan our daily lives.
The resolution will also be submitted to DIADEYAK, to the Corfu media, and to the Members of Parliament representing our region.
Residents will gather at the Chlomos–Linia crossroads at 10:00 a.m. before delivering the resolution.
